Joy church had a vision for reaching College and Career age people in the middle Tennessee area by creating a space for them in the form of a Coffee House.
The building was designed as a stand alone building, down the hill from the main church campus. Exterior patio and upper balcony on the corner of the building oriented towards the intersection of Benders Ferry and Lebanon Road visible from Lebanon Road were requested as part of the design. Coffee Bar underneath the mezzanine, away from the windows with lots of windows facing mainly towards Lebanon Road. Coffee bar was designed to be fully equipped like a standard coffee house.
The Café area, have multiple different vignettes of areas to give options of experience (artwork, seating, wall coverings: chalk wall, thin brick, picture mural, etc.), gas fireplace with a modern vibe, 2 interior restrooms (male and female), 1 family restroom and 1 restroom outside all ADA accessible.
A top notch sand volleyball courts with excellent lighting to allow night games and oriented long axis north/south.
The project is 2,500 SF of ground floor area, with about 1,000 SF of mezzanine floor area.
